Well! What a fantastic time we had at Crufts, We met so many different breeds of dog! It is great to learn about personality traits of different breeds, especially those that we work with on a daily basis. It helps you understand their behaviours more - the more you understand them the better your relationship with them can be. We are extremely privileged in our line of work to encounter do many varying types of dogs, gundogs, sighthounds, terriers, bull breeds, toy dogs - all of which have their own unique ways. All the people (and dogs) on the breed stands were so kind, friendly and helpful and were more than happy to discuss their dogs.
The agility, flyball, competitive obedience and heelwork to music were outstanding. It is lovely to see such a great bond between dog and owner. We are hoping to take up agility with the Platinum Petcare Poodle Millie, she loves a challenge so she will hopefully enjoy it! Watching the safe and sound scheme from the Kennel Club was just brilliant. Teaching children how to act and behave around dogs, especially in the fun and informal way it was, is one of the best ideas we had seen in a long time. If only it could be rolled out to all schools - it would help to reduce the number of dog bites! There was also an opportunity to have a look at all the different dog products on the market. We have spoken with many suppliers and we are hoping to venture into retail soon. A home delivery box service (like the vegetable companies do) is on the cards - please do let us know if you have any feedback on this idea, or if there is anything you wish for us to stock!
